Cristian Eteo Botau
Cristian believes that change is action; therefore he wants to influence and contribute positively to creating a better world. Cristian is the founder and Executive Director of Locos Por Cultura. The organization’s mission is to promote freedom of expression, tolerance, respect, and leadership through art and culture. They bring together communities of artists who put their talent, skills, and abilities to achieve social changes in their communities. He believes this is a soft approach to social transformation in Equatorial Guinea.
Currently Locos Por Cultura is collaborating and creating synergies with Compañía Teatral Bocamandja, the biggest theatre and performance group in Equatorial Guinea. This collaboration has widened the scope of Locos Por Cultura and has opened doors to new opportunities and access to more and better human capital.
Before starting Locos Por Cultura, Cristian co-founded Casa de Cultura de Rebola in Equatorial Guinea, which also focused on empowering writers, illustrators, filmmakers, actors, painters, and singers to bring about change.
Cristian is a certified member of the Institute of Training and Occupational Learning (ITOL) and Institute of Leadership Management. He is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors and has a LLB Laws degree from University of Buea.
Cristian was born and raised in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.
