Izumi Yamamoto

Co-Founder & President


Izumi is the co-founder and President of Perennial, where she shapes the organizational vision, designs curriculum, and facilitates trainings. She is moved by the pursuit of liberation and the creative force generated in union.

She is a leadership trainer, facilitator and coach with nearly two decades of experience working alongside social leaders around the world. Her professional work spans four continents which brings diverse perspectives to her work integrating both inner and outer leadership practices and matters of the soul. She is a Founding Member of iLEAP, an international leadership training organization, and has played key leadership roles in designing transformative programs for social change leaders. Previously, she managed HIV/AIDS global training programs and worked closely with healthcare providers in India to build regional HIV/AIDS training centers as the country director stationed in Chennai.

In addition to working at Perennial, Izumi is a trainer for the Rockwood Leadership Institute where she works with social justice leaders in North America and beyond. She has been an ardent student and practitioner of meditation for years, and has worked with people from all around the world in integrating their own practices for inner well-being and healing.

She has a BA degree from the University of Texas at Austin, a MA from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in International Environmental Policy, and holds the certified professional co-active coach (CPCC) designation from the Coaches Training Institute.
